The Internet has spread and grown in a blink of eye. It has affected many
countries in the world. Asia as one of the continent with the biggest number of
citizens has been influenced by the internet. It becomes dependent to the
internet. Economic, social, politic, entertainment and education are hinge to
the internet. People search almost everything by using the connection of the
internet. They curious about something happen in front of them, they just
search in ‘google’, one of the best search engines in the world, and then, they
find it. As a result, people tend to search or find everything by using the
connection of internet to know or even communicate. On the other hand, internet
beside of having advantages, it is also having disadvantages. Even many
countries in Asia have operated the limiting internet access’ law. This becomes
controversial. Some people strongly believe that there has to be limitation of
internet in order to keep some people who have not been able to access yet, for
instance, children, to access the adult-only content. While the others believe
that by limiting the internet access can also bring the difficulties towards
them.
Some people agree that limiting internet prevent them to speak their opinion.
Nowadays, internet has many features that bring advantages. One of the features
is such as blog. Blogs is one of the features of internet that we can write
about anything. It can be critics, advices, experiences, and so on. Suppose
internet is limited, we cannot write what we want, we cannot critic things that
happen in our surroundings; that later, in future, may help anyone to fix and
do better than before. Next, they believe that limiting internet access is same
with break the freedom. By using internet, we are able to
speak our minds. Speaking our mind is one of the human rights. By limiting the
access of internet, it may limit us to speak our mind since internet has many
features that become a way to speak our mind, such as blog. Some people believe
that limiting internet may difficult their life. Internet is generally known as
one of the technology that can replace the difficulties become easiness. For
example, we shop clothes or other things in department stores but by using
internet, we can shop online. Just sitting on the chair, turning on your laptop
or your smartphone, typing the web address, searching things that are needed,
clicking it, waiting at home, and the things are being delivered soon in front
of the house. Internet is indeed simple way to live the rough world. Thus,
suppose internet is limited, we are unable to live in this rough life in an
easy way anymore.
While other people oppose the idea of limiting internet access, the other
people agree to limit the internet access. They believe that by limiting the
internet access, it can prevent other bad possibility to occur. Such as,
porn-content web to be accessed by children. For we have already known that
there are lots of website on the internet. Some of those websites are easy and
free to access by everyone; and children nowadays are familiar with the
internet and able to access it. The ability of children to access the internet
becomes the anxiety of parents. Parents are afraid if their children
incidentally access the web addresses which contains adult content, since the
parents cannot fully accompany their children. Other parents’ anxiety is their
children are addicted to online games which are provided in the internet.
People also have notion that by limiting the internet access, they can prevent
crimes to occur. The accused nowadays are smarter. They can do anything in order
to get what they want; for instance, deception. Deception may easily occur in
the internet. Nowadays, the accused can freely hack people’s account and
deceive others people. Therefore, by limiting the internet access, it may
prevent us to be the victims of deception.
In conclusion, limiting the internet access becomes controversial issue in the
past years. People who pro believe that by limiting the internet access may
complicate their live for mostly the aspects in their life are not far from the
internet. The internet helps them to speak their minds. Thus, they strongly
oppose the idea of limiting the internet. The others people believe that
limiting the internet prevent crimes to occur and their children to access
unrequited web address. Also, limiting the internet can prevent their children
being addicted to online games.
