Sex
education is a process of acquiring knowledge and skills, and forming
attitudes, beliefs and values with regard to human sexuality. Sex education
helps students understand the physiological, social and emotional changes they
experience as they mature, develop healthy and rewarding relationships, and
make wise, informed and responsible decisions on sexuality matters. Some
experts believe that sex education give many positive effects, for instance;
sex education can be reduce abortion by teenagers. However, every methods have
two sides are advantages and disadvantages. Some experts who deem that sex
education just gives many negative effects, for instance; the teacher who gives
knowledge about sex to teenagers, it looks not reasonable because they still
have not had age enough yet.
Experts
who consider sex education are very useful to control or restrain teenagers to
do sex education. According

Benicia, M.Ph clarified that schools in the big country especially U.S. show
that more than 50% from The U.S. teenagers get lost their virginity at 17 years
old. In Japan almost 80% teenagers in there get lost their spinsterhood at 18
years old. As like Indonesia, its 51% teenagers in Jabodetabek have done sex
activity before they married, and from all of research samples show 85% young
boy do masturbation. These cases also show that sex education in schools just
7% are received well and 93% they deem sex education still not reasonable to
discuss in a class. There are no information that accurate about sex education,
so that, make teenagers do sex activity before they married and pregnancy of
teenagers increase. Secondly, according to Koes Irianto, every one agree for
giving sex education to teenagers for preventing pregnancy that everyone does
not want it or diverge sex behavior. With growth of world of information which
is very quickly, every one agrees that sex education is needed in the schools. (Risna

Meanwhile,
many experts deem that sex education just make diverge sex behavior. According

said, students may still be subject to embarrassment or excitable by subject
matter. This can make for out of control classrooms if students take to laugh
or make inappropriate comments. Most education s taught as a brief interlude in
physical education or health class. This is not enough time to relate
effectively to serious material. Often, sexual education can go against moral
or religious beliefs of an individual. Many schools do not teach
abstinence-only, but to teach how to have sex safely, while many of the
religious and family stress marriage before intercourse.(Youniversitytv, 2008)
Every
expert has different vision about sex education. It does not matter about this
case because the discussion just for adding the knowledge. It also can be
finding to make new methods.
