Be Healthier and Happier in Your Leisure Time

             People are busy nowadays. They live a stressful life with deadlines in the working place and demanding needs. People tend to not care about their health and their happiness. They just focus on their job without having some interactions with other people and do what they want or they like, such as work on their hobbies in their leisure time. Having hobbies are truly important for us. Hobbies are not only for fun, but it can refresh the mind and body, assist one in staying healthy, active and happy. It is a proven fact that spending time undertaking the things that we enjoy can help delay signs of aging and the pleasure in participating can lead to positive feelings that can help fight against some illness.
Hobbies and leisure activities can be a beneficial in variety of ways. The first benefit of having hobbies is enhancing the immune system. Being active is great for the body in helping to enhance one’s immune system. As a report from Aging Home Health Care states, “Physical activity can help prevent or maintain control in some chronic illnesses such as: heart disease, diabetes arthritis, and even some types of cancer.” For examples, exercises and playing games can be altered for different levels of physical function abilities. The second benefit of having some hobbies is you can improve your flexibility. Some active hobbies will make you move your body and can assist in stretching muscles and improve your flexibility. There are Yoga, swimming, and dancing that can help you to move your body and improve the flexibility of your body.
The third and the fourth benefit of having hobbies are improving your memory and improve your self esteem. Many hobbies will challenge your mental abilities and enhance your problem solving skills. Most hobbies also offer mental stimulation in reference to completing the task. For example, you can play Sudoku, Word Search, Crossword and puzzles to improve tour memory. Also, you can play Card Games, Board Games and Scrabble to improve your self esteem by having interaction with other people in the same hobby. Work on the same hobby with other people will make you more sociable and get more friends than before.
Further benefits of having some hobbies are reducing stress and have better quality sleep. Most people pursue hobbies because they enjoy it, and many things that we enjoy will help relieve stress in our lives. Some activities like cooking, baking, gardening, reading and playing a musical instrument may also help create a calm atmosphere to reduce stress. Undertaking more active hobbies earlier in the day may helps create more restful night’s sleep. When we satisfied with done some activities in the day, we will have more reason to get good quality of rest in the end of the day.
Overall, everyone needs to need have their own hobbies to be healthy and happy. There are some benefits of having some hobbies in our leisure time such as enhancing immune system, improving our flexibility, improving our memory, improving self esteem, reducing stress and have better quality of night rest. Some active hobbies that we can do in our leisure time are exercising, playing games, basketball, Yoga, swimming, dancing, cooking, gardening, singing, reading, playing a musical instrument, playing Card Games, Board Games, Scrabble and many more. By having side hobbies we will live our life in good way and have a long, healthy, and happy life.
