Is it True that Drinking too Much Water can Cause Death?

Almost everyone can agree that there are so many benefits that are provided by mineral water. Dieters believe that drinking so much water will help them to loose weight. However, Dr. Beth Kitchin, nutrition expert at the University of Alabama, denies that drinking water aids weight loss. Other people believe that drinking so much water can lower blood pressure. In fact, drinking too much water can caused the increase of blood level (Times of India). Although drinking water is good, we have to be aware of the unhealthy impact due to an excessive consumption of mineral water.
Firstly, drinking too much water causes the disruption of blood-level volume. Norman Hord, Ph D, Mp H, RD, associate professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Michigan State University, claims that an excessive nutrients including water that comes to the body can be the major cause of body toxicities. Water that poisons the body is the result of the combination between the excessive fluid intake and increased secretion of vasopressin (Joseph Verbalis - Chairman of Medicine at Georgetown University). Logically, when the excessive water comes up to our body, it can go easily through our bloodstream. The time when the excessive water go through the issue is the most peril stage because the water will not be stored in the body. Moreover, our kidneys will keep on working relentlessly in order to process the excessive water and it can result in kidney disordering. Take for example we forced something to work unstoppably it also will cause that thing does no longer working-well.
Secondly, the excessive consumption of water may cause the disruption of blood viscosity. If our body accept the excessive amount of water, it distracts the viscosity of blood and as the effect, it will disrupt the system of blood circular (Times of India). The blood deliquesce makes the cell expansion because of sodium level increasing in blood. Our body trying so hard to absorb all nutrient, in this case water, efficiently; yet when it is too much instead of making our kidney healthier, it makes blood viscosity got thickened. Take here for instance a sponge, when we give a great amount of water to sponge, it makes the sponge become bigger. Sponge is tend to pervade the water given to it; yet again the more we give water to it, it becomes heavier and water will settle on it for a long time. The same thing is happen to our kidneys, water will be stored in our body and the sediments of water are bad for kidneys performance.
Thirdly, consuming too much water causes water toxicities. Water toxicities,as known as hyponatremia, is a condition of dropping low sodium level in the body. Pennie Taylor, a Research Dietitian at CSIRO, claims that the lower sodium level in the body may caused the body to retain too much water. “Because of the retaining of too much water, the cells continue to swell” he continues. Sodium is an electrolyte that controlled the amount of water in body cells. Too much consuming water can drop the sodium low. The low-sodium level in the body cannot work properly and cannot absorb the water efficiently. The unabsorbed water will be swelling in the cells and caused brain leisured. Research shows that the impact of the sodium lack in a short-term period is that the sufferer gets sleepy easily; yet when it happens for a long-term period it can cause death.
Drinking too much water is not good for our body health. Firstly, it can disrupt the blood-level volume, increase the blood viscosity and toxifies our body. Our body needs the enough consumption of water; yet everything that consumed excessively is always bad. We should drink enough but not too much water everyday. We are the one who knows well about how much we need to drink. So, stay healthy by not drinking too much water.
