Positive and Negative Impacts of Limiting Ownership of Vehicles

Vehicles are one of the most important daily needs. Everyone uses many kinds of vehicles as an access to reach people’s destination. Vehicles are means of transportation carrying people to move from one place to another. Without using vehicles, people get difficulties in reaching some places or even disable their activities since it is one of means supporting someone’s activities. However, due to the fact that vehicles are the primary daily needs in our lives, people tend to own their private vehicles. They believe that by owning private vehicles will save their money, energy, and time since public transportations today do not serve comfort and less of efficiency. Moreover, we find traffic jam easily wherever we are. We believe or not, the main cause of traffic jam is the increase of vehicles. It is generally known that most people today prefer owning their private vehicles to public transportation. Knowing this, it is better for us to limit ownership of vehicles. Yet, it brings sat least three positive and negative impacts in terms of traffic, health, and societies’ welfare.
Limiting ownership of vehicles gives at least three betterments in our lives; less traffic jam, grow up societies’ welfare, and less pollution. Firstly, by applying this policy, it is potentially to decrement traffic jam as the volume of vehicles get less. There will be more public transportations than private vehicles. It is better to reach the same place by using the same vehicles instead of using their own vehicles. One vehicle is for many people. It is more efficient than somebody drives or rides their own.
Secondly, it brings betterment of our health. Less number of vehicles meaning that we produce less carbon dioxide. It is an establish fact that carbon dioxide causes several respiration disease, such as TBC, lung cancer, bronchitis, asthma, and many more. Limiting the number of vehicles will produce more oxygen needed by every human being.
Thirdly, the decrement of vehicles saves societies’ welfare as it saves our planet, the Earth. Nowadays, the Earth, our planet where we live on, is getting hotter and hotter. This circumstance caused by much carbon dioxide we produced. Global warming is the impact of much carbon dioxide.  If this condition persists, our next generation will not able to enjoy the beautiful and comfort of the Earth.
Yet, limiting ownership of vehicles gives destructive impacts as well in terms: limiting access of reaching places, taking more energy and money, and taking more time. The first main problem of limiting ownership of vehicles is limiting the access to some places as not every place we reached is able to access by public transportation. For instance, we cannot go to Jawa Timur Park 1 by public transportations for it stops at Pasar Batu only. Consequently, we must take a walk to go to Jawa Timur Park 1. The other consideration is somebody who wants to go to Junior High School 7 Malang located at Jl. Lemabayung, Malang, East Java. Those who want to get there must take off in front of main gateway. Meanwhile, they have to go up and go down in reaching the place since the access must be reached by bridge and uncomfortable access.
The second problem of limiting ownership of vehicles is people need more energy to reach their destinations. One of the consequences in using public transportation is the passengers must walk to the bus stop to get their public transportations. Moreover, not all public transportations can be accessed wherever we are. Sometimes, we have to walk long miles to get it. If not, we will not go to another place. It is really takes our energy since we have to struggle to get the public transportations which ready to pick us up.
The last problem of using public transportations is taking more money and times. People with some activities and business will pay much more money since they have more than one destination. Taken example, a student who wants to go to school they have to pay the bus picking him up to school. Then after finishing study at school, he has the other activities outside meaning that he has to pay again. Let us imagine if he has so many activities in different places, how much money will he take? How much time that he must be spent to wait the public transportation, and find the other passengers? It is really not effective for us. This condition is worsening societies’ welfare.
All in all, limiting ownership of vehicles brings positive and negative impacts in our lives. The positive ones are less traffic jam; grow up societies’ health and welfare. Meanwhile, the negative impacts of it are limiting the access to places, taking more energy, and taking much money and more time. However, we might decide whether limiting ownership of vehicles is good or not in our lives.
